About the Certified Farm Succession Coordinator Training
Do you want to help your farmers with those first farm succession conversations that you know they need to have? Maybe you know strategies for transferring assets but need some ideas for improving communication, strategic planning tools, and transferring management. The Certified Farm Succession Coordinator training provides training and resources to help you help your farmers with one of the most important planning processes they’ll need.
The Certified Farm Succession Coordinator Training is offered by the UW-Madison Division of Extension in collaboration with the International Farm Transition Network and offers:
- Insight on the tensions around farm succession
- Strategies for working with families as they navigate farm succession,
- Facilitation tools to guide the process,
- Opportunities to consider real-life examples of farm succession case studies.
Joy Kirkpatrick, Farm Succession Outreach Specialist with the UW–Madison Division of Extension, and Kiley Fleming Ed. D., the Executive Director of the Iowa Mediation Service, are the instructors of this training. Kirkpatrick and Fleming have been instructors for this training since its inception in 2012. Together, they bring over 45 years of succession planning experience to the training.
