Are you interested in trying out a new idea on your farm? Have you thought about applying for a grant but weren’t sure where to start? On Thursday, October 27th UW-Madison Extension will host a webinar to introduce farmers and agricultural professionals to grant opportunities in agriculture.
A farmer who has successfully applied for grants will start the program. Then a panel including staff from both federal and state grant programs will cover some of the ins and outs of applying for those and other grants. Programs covered will include USDA’s Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Farmer-Rancher grants and Value-Added Producer Grants (VAPG); and Wisconsin Department of Agriculture’s Buy Local Buy Wisconsin, Producer-Led Watershed Protection, and Specialty Crop Block Grants.
The webinar will start at noon. Following the presentations, participants are welcome to ask extensive questions of the presenters.
People interested in applying for a grant are strongly encouraged to view a recorded presentation on “Grant-writing 101” at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIHRqp6jAF4 before attending the webinar on October 27th.
